❌ Not quite.
You picked flu. In the Wales data, people who got the flu vaccine showed no difference in dementia. The link was with the shingles vaccine. The answer is B) Shingles.
What worked: Two large studies point the same way.
Wales: people born just after the cutoff date to qualify for an older shingles vaccine had about 20% fewer new dementia diagnoses over 7 years than people born just before it. Since the only difference was birth date, it's close to a real experiment.
United States: in health records, people who got today's vaccine, Shingrix, went about 17% longer without a dementia diagnosis than people who got the older one.
The honest caveat: these studies show a link, not proof, and no one yet knows exactly why. The vaccine's main job, preventing painful shingles, is proven.
Use it this week:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist about Shingrix. It's recommended for adults 50 and older, as 2 shots given 2 to 6 months apart.
Many pharmacies give it without an appointment. Check whether your insurance covers it.
If you had the older vaccine years ago, ask whether you should also get Shingrix.
Who makes it: GSK (GSK), public. $51.15 per US share at the Nov 4 close, market value about $102 billion, cash about £3.1 billion [about $4 billion] (June 30, 2026).
